Winter Weather Information
Cancellations of worship services and other events will be posted by e-mail, on the church website, and on News Channel 20 when inclement weather disrupts scheduled meetings.
 
Ministry Council
The Ministry Council is meeting on this Sunday, January 26, 2020 at 1 p.m. ​in the church library.

A Simple Ministry
Do you need help getting to doctor’s appointments, help with grocery shopping or chores? “A Simple Ministry” is a service ministry by your First Church family for the First Church family. These volunteers are looking to help those who could use an extra hand. To request service for yourself or a loved one, simply call the church at (217) 529-1902. 

Funds to Replace Church Van
The church is taking donations to replace the old church van. Please make out any checks to: “First Church of God” and designate “Church Van” on the check. Thank You!

Pastor Jay is teaching on Becoming Your True Self in Christ. Discover how to bear a Christ-centered self-image and how to transform your thoughts, emotions and attributes. Lear to bear the right burdens and get a vision for your potential in Christ.  Meets in Gathering Grounds at 11:15 a.m.  ​

Bible Gleaners
Discover how key people and experiences of Old Testament times impact Christian living today. Meets across from Gathering Grounds at 11:15 a.m.

Care & Share
Discover how God uses even our missteps to lead us into His best ways with a study of 1 & 2 Samuel. Meets across from the drinking fountain at 11:15 a.m.
 

Kids Faith Journey

Part 1: 9:45-11:00 am
Children age 4 to 11 are invited to engage in an experience especially designed for our younger worshipers on second through fifth Sundays. Children and their families worship together on first Sundays. Meets in Neff Hall (next to Worship Center entrance, on right).

Part 2: 11:00 am - 12:00 noon
Kids' Faith Journey continues for 1st through 5th grade students as they explore the Big God Story The interactive format connects children to the story of God and helps them celebrate and find their place in the story through hands-on learning centers. Meets across from Gathering Grounds cafe.
