Jay Kroft, Senior Pastor
God has a place for you in His family! Jesus Christ died so that you might experience new life and know His love for you. My favorite verse describes what you can expect: "'For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future'" (Jeremiah 29:11).
God has plans for you! HE is your HOPE and your FUTURE. That is the message and purpose of First Church of God--to help people find their hope and future in Jesus Christ. As you experience a relationship with Christ, you will be filled with hope, joy, peace, confidence, grace, humility and courage because you will have "Christ in you, the hope of glory" (Colossians 1:27).
God intends for the church to be a safe place for people to find hope and healing for their lives. We are striving to create an atmosphere where people have real experiences with God and each other. You are welcome to come as you are and then watch as God works in your life to grow you to your full potential in Jesus Christ. It is amazing what God can accomplish in us when we realized that He is God and we are not.
Our vision as a church is to be people of hope and a place where others find the hope of Jesus Christ. One of the ways you can experience hope and freedom from your hurts, hang-ups and habits is through Celebrate Recovery. Participating in this powerful ministry is truly liberating and life changing!
Monica and I enjoy the people we've known at First Church since 2008. Monica serves as the Administrative Assistant to the Provost at one of our local universities, loves gardening and enjoys cooking. My favorite pastimes include reading Abraham Lincoln biographical literature and watching Notre Dame Fighting Irish football. When possible, we try to spend time with our adult sons, Lincoln and Zak.
